History of the Plastics Pollution Project
The first Plastics Pollution Project meeting happened in October 2007 when Amy Chovnick, a project leader for East Hills 4-H decided to run a project learning and doing something about plastics pollution. We learned about the Great Pacific Gyre, ways to lower our plastic use, and much more. East Hills has had a Plastics project ever since, and with the problem of plastic pollution larger than ever before, we have a lot to do!
We’ll post some resources and examples of our past work soon, but in the meantime, see below for information about this year’s project and the upcoming Coastal Cleanup, happening on September 18th, 2021, from 9 am – 12 noon.
